There are many stupid mispelled or typo domains fooling around and receiving

a very very low % (or cero) traffic, so you don´t want to register a domain

with that luck.

If you generate a Typo from a “Target Domain” with low traffic, you´ll

receive even less traffic. So…how do you choose a “target domain” for

generating your Typo/s?

Strategy is simple:

Try to look for “Target Domains” that Have

Mid/High Amounts of Traffic.

The more traffic they get, the more people will remember them (the more

people will remember them with some mispelled letter/s). And of course,

follow the tips described above.

Now i´ll show you 3 alternatives i use for finding “Target Domains” for

my Typos.

Alternative 1:

Finding “Target Domains” With High Alexa Ranking.

Alexa Ranking, rates a site for it’s traffic. You can check the alexa rank of a

site at http://www.alexa.com

Now, we need “Target Domains” with HIGH alexa ranking.

You can use this: http://www.alexa.com/site/ds/top_500

We can Browse Top Sites by Country, Language or Subject. Let’s do it by

Subject…

Once you have the subject, you’ll see the Top Sites…

Here we’re browsing the “Green Living Category” which is under

“Top > Shopping > Niche > Green Living”…

To the Right, you have the TOP sites for that category. You can see the

Stats for each site by moving the mouse over the link .

If you want to see all the Top Sites Under a Category, you’ll find a link

under the TOP 10 Sites, similar to this…

This, will let you now which are the greatest players and even better…

you can check which are the highest alexa players for a given country

so, if you want to generate Typo’s for your regional domains, this tool

will also help you.

Remember: Don’t make Typo’s from Trademarks.

Alternative 2:

Finding “Target Domains” in Public Traffic Statistics.

There are many sites that use public web stats. And you can get valuable

information from them.

An example: Webstats4u.com stats.

Follow this link (or copy and paste it in your browser), and you´ll be

browsing lots of sites that are being monitored by Webstats4u.com.

Traffic Statistics:

Here, you can see a ranking list for a given category. If you click the stats icon

of a site, you’ll see the particular stats of a site like this…

Tip: You can watch the statistics for a given country. Just go to the main page

of the given link and pick up the country from a combo.

Alternative 3:

Finding “Target Domains” by Keywords with Overture.

I will go directly to the software since you can do this by hand. It’s Called

Domain Suggestion Tool. How does it work? Easy…type one or more words

to search and this tool will generate a list of domains related to that

keyword/s.

It will show Overture Score, Alexa Traffic, Availability and other info.

A Great tool. In my opinion your first purchase should be “Typos Generator”

and then, if you have $80 also get this.

and score.
